Basic Details

Navigate to Products (opens in a new tab) Section in your Sellers Dashboard (opens in a new tab) and click on 'Add Product' button.

The common information about a product are the title, price, description. Discount price is optional. And you can schedule discounts for a certain amount of time. You can enter a starting date and end date to apply automatic discounts to your product.

Product Type

Simple Product: These types of products are simple and have no variants. They are single and standalone products, which does not require any other information to define different variants.

Variable Product: A variable product is a product that has different types of variants. For example, you might want to sell same honey, but have option to select size, container, etc. ou can add variations based on anything you like, perhaps the material used or the stitching style.

Grouped Products: You can group products together to sell them as bundle

Selecting Category

Select Category that your product belongs to. Make sure to select category that best suits your product, this will help buyers to find your product easy. You can also send us "Missing Category Request"

Please note that while selecting the most fitting category for your product is important, Hexaget admins reserve the right to reassign your product to a different category. This decision is made in the best interest of ensuring the most effective and relevant categorization for all products on our platform.

Why Might Your Product Be Reassigned?

  • Better Visibility: If the admins believe your product will perform better or be more easily discovered by customers in another category.
  • Accuracy of Categorization: To ensure that all products in a category accurately represent the category's intended scope.
  • Platform Consistency: Maintaining a consistent and logical categorization system across the platform.

If Your Product Is Moved:

  • You will be notified if your product has been reassigned to a different category.
  • This decision is made to enhance the shopping experience and improve the discoverability of your product.
  • If you have concerns or questions about the reassignment, you are encouraged to contact Hexaget support for further discussion.

Tags

Product tags are simple labels that you can add to your products to make them easier to find. Think of them like keywords or hashtags that you often see on social media. They help describe what your product is about and relate it to similar items.

When you add tags to your honey products, you're basically giving them specific words that people might use when they're searching for something. For example, if you're selling organic honey, you might use tags like "organic," "natural," or "raw." This way, when customers search for these words on Hexaget, your product has a better chance of showing up in their search results.

Aim for 3 to 5 tags Per Product: Generally, adding around three to five tags per product is effective. This range is enough to accurately describe your product without overcomplicating it.

Overloading on tags can potentially harm your product's visibility in search results. When there are too many tags, it becomes harder for the platform's search algorithms to categorize and rank your product effectively.

How to Add Tags

Type in the tags you want to add in the 'Tags' field. You can also select from the list of suggested tags that appear as you type, or type in your own custom tags and hit enter to add them.

Product description

When adding a product to Hexaget, particularly food products like honey, it's important to provide both a short and a long description. This approach helps potential customers understand your product better, leading to more informed and satisfying purchases.

Short description

The short description should be a concise snapshot of your product:

  • Conciseness is Key: Keep it brief, a few sentences at most.
  • Highlight Key Features: Quickly mention what makes your honey special (e.g., organic, raw).
  • Primary Flavors: Briefly touch on the taste profile (e.g., sweet, floral).

Long Description

The long description is where you can delve into the details:

You can use the text formatting options to make your description more visually appealing and easier to read. These options include:

  • Bold: Use to highlight key points or important information.
  • Italic: Use to emphasize certain words or phrases.
  • Bulleted List: Use to list down key features or benefits.
  • Numbered List: Use to list down steps or instructions.
  • Block Quote: Use to highlight a quote or testimonial.

Shipping

  1. Enter Physical Dimensions:

    • Weight: Input the weight of the product, including packaging. (weight should be in oz, use converter (opens in a new tab) to convert pounds to oz)
    • Dimensions: Provide the length, width, and height of the product's package. Accurate dimensions are crucial for shipping cost calculations and ensuring that your product is handled correctly during transit.
  2. Consider Packaging: Remember that the dimensions should include any packaging or protective materials used in shipping. This is essential for calculating the correct shipping volume.

  3. Shipping Class (If Applicable): If your product falls into a specific shipping class due to its size, weight, or other factors, make sure to select the appropriate class from the options provided.

In the 'Linked Products' section of your product listing on Hexaget, you can set up additional products to be displayed as upsell or cross-sell items. This feature helps to increase visibility and sales of your other products by recommending them to customers who are viewing or purchasing a specific item.

Upsells

  • Definition: Upselling is suggesting an upgrade or a more premium product than the one the customer is viewing.
  • How to Add: In the 'Upsells' field, search and select the products you want to recommend as upgrades. These should be items that are generally higher in value or quality.

Cross-sells

  • Definition: Cross-selling involves recommending products that complement or are related to the item being viewed or purchased.
  • How to Add: In the 'Cross-sells' field, search and add products that complement or are typically bought together with the main product.

Choose products that are genuinely relevant and offer additional value to the customer. Consider items that pair well or are often purchased together in the case of cross-sells.

  • Enhanced Customer Experience: Providing relevant recommendations can enhance the shopping experience, making it easier for customers to find what they need.

Attributes

What Are Attributes?

Attributes in e-commerce are specific characteristics or details of a product. They play a crucial role in defining a product and providing potential buyers with necessary information. Common attributes include size, color, weight, material, brand, flavor, origin, and more, depending on the type of product.

How to Add Attributes

You can select from the list of available attributes or create your own custom attributes. First select attribute, then click add attribute button.

Bulk Discount

If you wish to provide bulk discount for your product, you can do so by clicking on 'Enable Bulk Discount' checkbox and specify minimum purchase quantity and discount. Make sure to add information about bulk discount in product description as well. At this time no automatic message displayed to buyers about bulk discount.

Other options

Product Status

You can set product status to 'Draft' if you wish to save product as draft and publish later. By default product status is set to 'Pending Review' and will be reviewed by Hexaget admins before publishing.

Purchase note

You can add purchase note for your product. This note will be displayed to buyers after purchase.

Product Approval

Please note that it might take 24 hours for your product to go live after submission. This is because we manually review each product before publishing.
